Strengthening the resilience of energy infrastructure

Project information

In the context of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which has been ongoing since February 2022, and in response to the scale of strategic energy infrastructure destruction and the geopolitical circumstances in the region, we decided to strengthen the protection of Lithuania’s strategic and critical energy infrastructure assets against hybrid threats. Through the programme, we aim to ensure the protection of key electricity, gas and energy storage infrastructure assets managed by the Group’s companies against destruction or disruption, and to implement the necessary measures to strengthen the resilience of energy systems, prevent threats and prepare for potential crises. In 2025, we invested more than EUR 8 million in the resilience of electricity, gas and energy storage systems. These funds were used to acquire mobile barrier protection measures, prepare four assets for and transfer them to the protection of the Public Security Service, implement a drone detection and neutralisation system, and begin building a reserve of critical equipment.
