Synchronisation projects for market integration

Project information

Synchronisation with the Continental European Networks took place on 9 February 2025, but we continued implementing projects to complete the synchronisation programme. These projects helped strengthen the integration of electricity markets and increase the stability of the electricity system. In 2025, the third synchronous condenser – the Neris synchronous condenser – was connected, construction of the 330 kV Vilnius–Neris and Kruonis PSP–Bitėnai overhead lines was completed, as were the construction of the 330 kV Neris transformer substation and the reconstruction of the 330 kV Darbėnai and Mūša switchyards.

We are implementing the construction project for the land section of the “Harmony Link” interconnection, which will enable increased electricity trading volumes with Western Europe. In 2025, we commenced the interconnection design works, while simultaneously carrying out territorial planning and environmental impact assessment procedures.
