Robertas Vyšniauskas, an independent member of the Board of Directors of the energy transmission and exchange group EPSO-G, was elected Chairman of the Board. The current Chairman, Gediminas Almantas, will continue to serve on the Board until the end of his term in 2023.
The priorities of the EPSO-G Board remain the strengthening of the Group by expanding its activities and adjusting its business model accordingly, the development of non-regulated activities and, for the next couple of months, the selection of a Chief Executive Officer.
‘I have been involved in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement for more than 6 years. In the near future, I will have to become much more involved in the organisation’s activities abroad, in a leadership role. The position of Chairman of the Board requires both active involvement and more frequent presence in Lithuania, so by consensus of the Board, we decided to elect Robertas as Chairman and I will continue to serve on the Board until the end of my term of office’, says Gediminas Almantas.
Robertas Vyšniauskas is also the CEO of ‘State Investment Capital’, a member of the Board of ‘Vilnius Development Company’, and a consultant in corporate governance, law and tax.
‘The EPSO-G Board intends to continue the work on its agenda. This will be done as soon as possible, with a full board, once an independent member has been appointed to fill the vacancy that arose earlier this year’, says Robertas Vyšniauskas, Chairman of the Board of EPSO-G.
The five-member EPSO-G Board, which started its four-year term in March 2019, currently consists of independent members Gediminas Almantas and Robertas Vyšniauskas, as well as Dainius Bražiūnas, Head of Energy Security Policy Group of Ministry of Energy, and Gediminas Karalius, Senior Adviser to the Group.
The EPSO-G Group of companies consists of the parent management company EPSO-G, five directly owned subsidiaries ‘Amber Grid’, ‘Baltpool’, ‘Energy cells’, ‘Litgrid’ and ‘Tetas’, and an indirectly controlled GET Baltic. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania exercises the rights and duties of the sole shareholder of EPSO-G.
