The Ministry of Energy is in the middle of the selection process of the supervisory board of the company EPSO-G. Last week, the period for candidates to submit applications expired.

The suitability of candidates for the position of members of the supervisory board will be evaluated by the selection committee formed by the Ministry of Energy, the shareholder of EPSO-G. The members of the committee are three representatives of the Ministry of Energy, a representative of the State-Owned Enterprises Governance Coordination Centre of the state enterprise Turto bankas, and two independent experts in personnel selection and corporate governance. The evaluation is planned to be completed by the 25th of March.

The governance of the EPSO-G group of companies is being improved according to the most up-to-date recommendations of international organisations. The recommendations, in addition to other matters, suggest forming a supervisory board and the board that would include independent professionals. The supervisory board of EPSO-G will consist of five members, including two independent ones. The chairperson of the supervisory board will be elected from among independent members.
